AcIRSTD mentoring helps learners who are at risk, disadvantaged, or have aspirations, by providing them with role models, advice, encouragement, and opportunities. Mentoring can also help learners explore their interests, goals, or careers, by exposing them to new perspectives, experiences, or networks.

AcIRSTD counselling is a professional support that helps learners cope with their emotional, psychological, or behavioural issues that may affect their education and research aspirations. Our counselling takes place in person or online, in one-on-one or group settings, and can be formal or informal. The Academy helps learners who are facing stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, or other mental health problems, by providing them with a safe space, listening, empathy, and strategies. AcIRSTD counselling also help learners deal with personal, family, or social problems, such as bullying, abuse, divorce, or peer pressure, by providing them with guidance, support, and referrals.
In addition, AcIRSTD counselling provides assistance and guidance to students and young researchers in making the right choices in their studies, be it their educational plans, career aspirations, choice of stream and specialization.
An AcIRSTD’s focus is on supporting students and early career researchers with social emotional challenges, which may include a wide variety of direct services for students and young researchers to reduce barriers to learning and thriving within a collaborative push-in, pull-out model in the education environment.
