Issue in science and technology is a forum for discussion of public policy related to Science Education, Higher Education, Science, Technology, Society and Environment Education, Health Care, Public Policy and Medicine published biannually. It serves as a vehicle for sci-tech scientists and technologists to share successful initiatives and innovative ideas, and to publish peer-reviewed or board-accepted papers, including case studies, practical applications, theoretical essays, and research papers relevant to the functions and operations of science and technology in all settings.

The ultimate purpose of the Academy journal is thus idealistic but vital. AcIRSTD issues aims to provide deeply informed, highly accessible, challenging yet constructive contributions to public discussions and democratic decision-making that can enhance the contribution of science and technology to the creation of a better world. AcIRSTD concerns encompass a broad range of themes and perspectives related to the ways that societies seek to advance knowledge and innovation to achieve social goals. Our audience is everyone involved or interested in this effort.

Through its columns AcIRSTD also publishes web/bibliographies, reviews, opinions, and best practices. This includes policy for science (how we nurture the health of the research enterprise) and science for policy (how we use knowledge more effectively to achieve social goals). The Academy’s goals are to improve the effectiveness of public and private policy in making a better world and to raise the level of debate and mutual respect among all those who appreciate the critical contributions of science and technology.
