
The Bells University of Technology (BUT), Ota, and the Academy of Innovative Research, Science & Technological Development (AcIRSTD), Lagos announced a new, multi-year research collaboration aimed at developing innovative solutions in Engineering and Technology, Environmental and Earth Sciences, Physical Sciences, Staff Exchange Programs, Curriculum Development, Joint Training and Mentoring, Shared Facilities and Equipment, Data Sharing and Management, Joint Funding Applications, University-Industry Linkages, and Community-Based Participatory Research among others. This partnership leverages the unique strengths and cutting-edge facilities of both institutions to tackle pressing challenges related to science, technology, innovation, and artificial intelligence ethics.
The collaboration will combine BUT’s expertise in entrepreneurial skills across Colleges of Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Management Sciences, and Natural & Applied Sciences, with key strengths in AI & Data Science (BCA Center), Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Food Science, and specialized Engineering fields (Biomedical, Mechatronics), aiming to create job creators through relevant, technology-driven education and research with AcIRSTD’s in strengths in policy advice, international partnerships, science communication (like Inspiring Nigeria), establishing research centers, intellectual property management, and providing education/counseling for students and professionals. This interdisciplinary approach is expected to accelerate discoveries and translate research findings into tangible benefits for society.
Key aspects of the research initiative include:

- Joint Research Projects: The partnership will support several co-authored studies and projects, fostering a rich environment for knowledge exchange.
