Overview

The Academy of Innovative Research, Science & Technological Development (AcIRSTD) organizes national and international conferences to foster communication among local scientists and promote the advancement of academics at the local and international levels and issues recommendations relating to the role of scientists. These conferences, which are comprised of researchers, scientists, technologists, innovators, industry professionals and policy makers, and members formulate project plans for each fiscal year, plan and prepare academic lecture meetings and then take action toward their implementation, and issue national and international conference news.

Almost twice times a year, each national or international conference establishes academic lecture meetings on themes that are matched to local and international requirements, and invites members of the general public to participate. The Academy also holds informal discussions thrice a year with scientists to familiarize national scientists with the activities of AcIRSTD and to serve as a place where scientists can hear the views of their colleagues in other regions.

As the representative organization of the Nigerian scientists community, AcIRSTD carries out several international activities in cooperation with other national academies and international academic organizations.

The Academy Conferences represent open fora at which experts meet and discuss a particular topic, with the aim of arriving at a common understanding of that topic and formulating core policies that can help develop the nation and other developing countries to overcome their development difficulties.

The Conferences are also intended to be educational for participants, and focal points through which specialized organizations can forge long-term co-operation links.
