INTRODUCTION

The Learning & Development (L&D) Division is an arm of the Academy of Innovative Research, Science & Technological Development (AcIRSTD). This unit specifically designed to translate scientific expertise into industry-relevant training. The division bridges scientific research with industry-specific skills, which focus on applying scientific research, leadership, technology, data, and compliance. Our clients come from a wide range of industries, institutions, government agencies and parastatals located locally, nationally and internationally.

Standard training course mean a course of training or instruction provided wholly or partly by or on behalf of or in pursuance of arrangements made with client, or approved by or on behalf of client.

From our comprehensive programmes, delivered In-House where content and format is based on the published outline. The Division provides a separate notification of the date and location of the Standard Training Courses.

Our client may enroll for Standard Training Courses through Learning & Development (L&D)’s registration tool.

2. In-House Training 

Learning & Development (L&D) offers a wide range of In-house training programmes always in line with our expertise in diverse areas of human endeavours. You also have the benefit of having our trainers all to yourself at your own premises. The trainer can confidentially answer questions relating to the specific compliance needs of your organisation.

It is the most convenient and cost effective solution if you wish to train a number of employees in your location. It also has multiple benefits including training and travel cost-saving, the course is more unique for our client’s needs, convenience, confidentiality and, of course, team building.

Choosing an in-house training package means that you are more in control of the schedule, you can choose the dates. A further benefit of choosing an in-house solution is that you will not incur the extra costs associated with attending a public course.

3. A Blended Approach

More recently we have been approached by clients to establish a blended learning environment, which, even if we say so, has been a great success.  Our blended learning adopts the best of both worlds, with virtual participants and those present within the training room. TRAINING METHODOLOGY

  • Participants will have lots of opportunities to put into practice the skills they develop and enhance during the course. We make the most of small and whole group exercises, videos, case studies, peer exchange, brainstorming, role plays and discussions. Participants are encouraged to reflect on and discuss their own professional issues and experiences.
  • We will spend lots of time working one-on-one and in small groups to resolve the challenges participants face. They will leave with new ideas and skills they can implement immediately they step back into their teams.
  • The programme combines presentations that share both theory and industry best practices with practical sessions in accordance with adult learning and learner-centred learning principles. Overall, 60% of training will be experiential and 40% will be theoretical.
  • Case studies will be included in each of the modules to demonstrate the variety of ways global organisations are using critical thinking, creative thinking and problem solving.

We offer customized programmes at convenience, while we also provide external venues with specialized facilities on a more neutral environment.
