Fellowship & Registry Architecture

A new Fellow of the Academy, in gold and green academic dress, receives his certificate and plaque at an investiture ceremony.

Traditional academies reward the end of a career with an honorific title. AcIRSTD structures its tiers to incentivize the active execution of high-impact research and technological development.

Tier 1: Fellow Academy Researcher, Scientist & Technologist (FARST)

  • The Traditional Contrast: In an old-guard academy, becoming a "Fellow" requires decades of tenure, political maneuvering within universities, and massive citation counts, regardless of whether that research ever helped a single person.
  • The AcIRSTD FARST Standard: FARST is an action-oriented distinction awarded to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in breaking laboratory research out into the real world.

Key Metrics for Admission:

  • Proof of technology transfer (moving a project from a lab to an industrial pilot).
  • Patented innovations or open-source solutions that directly address sustainability or engineering challenges.
  • Active mentorship of young innovators and contribution to the AcIRSTD agile curricula.

Tier 2: Certified Research Professional (CRP) Registry

  • The Traditional Contrast: Standard universities assume that because someone holds a PhD, they automatically know how to manage multi-million dollar corporate projects, protect intellectual property, or navigate international regulatory pathways. This lack of business acumen is why most academic projects fail to scale.
  • The AcIRSTD CRP Standard: The CRP is a professional certification and registry designation. It is engineered for the modern research executive. It signals to corporate partners and international grant bodies that the holder is fully trained in research economics.

Core Competencies Validated:

  • IP Architecture: Patent filing, licensing agreements, and protecting corporate trade secrets within academic setups.
  • Grant & Agile Project Management: Navigating complex international funding frameworks and hitting product-delivery milestones on corporate timelines.
  • Data & Ethics Governance: Managing deployment parameters for AI, biotechnology, and green technology within compliance frameworks.
